Company History

Walt Johnson Construction & Crane Services was founded in 1990, built on Walt’s years of experience in construction, crane operation, and the lessons in customer service and entrepreneurship he learned from his father. Walt spent his summers on job sites and became a crane operator in 1980 before setting out to build a business of his own.

Over the years, the team grew around him. Jamie has been by Walt’s side since 1994, growing into a leader, crane operator, and the all-around builder our customers trust. Jasper brought his design and engineering expertise to the company in 2007 and now serves as General Manager, a role he stepped into in 2025. Craig rounds out the team, lending his project coordination and design skills since 2012.

In May 2026, staying true to the company’s family-run roots, Walt passed the torch to the next generation to run day-to-day operations while staying closely involved in key areas
